Using EndNote to Capture Bibliographic Information for a Web Page

You can save bibliographic information for a web page using the  Capture function in EndNote Web. First you download and install a plug-in for your browser:

ENWebCapture2

The Capture plug-in appears as a bookmark in your browser:

ENWCapture3

This command scans the bibliographic information stored on the web page and creates a pre-filled reference that you can save to either EndNote Web or the desktop version. To save a reference to your library:

1. Open the web page, e.g. www.CDC.heartdisease.gov/

2. Click the Capture Reference bookmark in your browser.

3. Complete or modify any of the fields:

ENWCapture4

4.     Click the Save to button and select EndNote Web:

ENWCapture5

Alternately, you can select EndNote when saving a captured reference. This will save the reference to a formatted file that opens in your desktop EndNote.
