Evidence-Based Nursing Databases Available via JBI COnNECT+

It has been very challenging for busy nurses to find evidence-based information to make an informed decision at the point of care. JBI Evidence-Based Nursing Databases, developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute at the University of Adelaide, South Australia, now is available to UCSF Medical Center via JBI COnNECT+. JBI COnNECT+ offers evidence-based resources that promote and support best practices in nursing and allied health.

It includes:

  • JBI Library of Systematic Reviews
  • JBI Database of Best Practice Information Sheets
  • JBI Database of Evidence Summaries
  • JBI Database of Evidence-Based Recommended Practices
  • JBI Database of Consumer Information Summaries

One Response to Evidence-Based Nursing Databases Available via JBI COnNECT+

  1. Daphne Stannard says:

While it is true that this wonderful resource is currently limited to UCSF Medical Center IP addresses at this time, we are hopeful that the UCSF JBI Affiliated Centre will soon become a full-fledged Coordinating Centre, which would enable all UCSF users to access this membership-only site. This site contains, among other things, four very important resources in my opinion:
    1. The JBI library of full-text systematic reviews
    2. The JBI listing of systematic review protocols that are currently underway (this is a good thing to check if you plan on writing a systematic review)
    3. The JBI Best Practice Summary Sheets, which are two-page summaries of systematic reviews. These “quick glance” sheets are designed for the busy clinician and are intended to assist with using the best available evidence at the point of care
    4. The JBI online journals, including the International Journal for Evidence-Based Practice

If you have access to a Medical Center computer with internet, be sure to check out this site!
