Help Alpha Test Project Evergreen Search Tool

Elsevier, the publisher that brings you resources such as MDConsult and ProceduresConsult, is alpha testing a new search tool called Evergreen.   The content in this pilot project currently concentrates more on General Medicine, Cardiology, and Orthopedics, and plans are to expand this content to other specialties.

Evergreen search results aim to provide information to help healthcare professionals:

  • stay updated on medical information and procedures
  • create patient care plans
  • improve patient compliance
  • create presentations with their content

Results can be narrowed down by selecting options in the left menu of a results page.  Links at the top of the results page get you to relevent etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, prevention, drug information, and patient handouts.  A search can be run to find videos and images as well.

The Presentation Maker is a unique feature of Evergreen.  It allows you to drag any image found in a result and drop it into the Presentation Maker tool in the right menu bar.  When done collecting the images, they are exported to PowerPoint.  The images are automatically cited properly at the bottom of each slide. You can also create a reading list of literature you want to keep track of helpful information you find.

Videos showcasing key Evergreen features can be viewed at http://info.elsevieronlinereference.com/projectevergreen/videotips.html

We’d like you to give Evergreen a spin and let us know what you think.  Please answer the poll question below & post a comment with your opinion.

The trial ends March 31st.
