On December 29th, 2017, the CLE received an update. The most noticeable change happened on the dashboard page, which received a new Course Overview block. This updated block brings new functionality to the CLE, but it also prevents students from customizing the order in which their courses are listed. We expect this block to improve in future updates. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! You can use the Recent Courses and Favorite Courses blocks instead. Please review the video below for a demonstration. UCSF Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) is getting an update. The CLE (powered by Moodle) will be upgraded from version 3.2 to 3.3 on December 29, 2017 and will be unavailable from 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (PT) to complete the upgrade.
Although this upgrade will introduce a few new features which will benefit all CLE users, this post will focus on the most notable change—Course Overview block. We’ll introduce the other new features in our future posts so please stay tuned!
Articulate Studio has been a popular tool in our service catalog for many years. Educators have used the application to build narrated PowerPoint presentations for hundreds of courses in the CLE. Like many applications, however, it has become outdated, and we consequently will be discontinuing support at the end of 2017. The concept of a recycle bin for your deleted digital files is older than you may realize, and we have all grown accustomed to the safety that it provides. With the recent update to Moodle 3.2, we now have this functionality in the CLE! This means you can breathe a little easier when editing activities and resources in your course, because deleted items are recoverable. Continue reading
